How Duct Cleaning Improves Your Indoor Air Quality

When you think about how your air conditioner operates, you probably take into consideration that your air filter helps to improve your home’s indoor air quality. But if you don’t change your air filter regularly, dust and dirt can begin getting into your HVAC system.

And that’s not the only way that dust and dirt get in. These tiny particles can get through the tiniest, gaps and holes, building up over time to become much more significant.

If you want to improve your indoor air quality in Lake Geneva, our team can help by offering duct cleaning services. You can keep reading to learn more about why duct cleaning works and how it improves your indoor air quality.

Reducing Dust and Dander

If you have a significant amount of dirt and dander circulating through your home, your air ducts may be to blame. If dust and dander are gathering in the air ducts, every time cold air blows through these particles are mixing with that air and re-entering your home.

This can make you more likely to get sick and also increase any allergy symptoms. A duct cleaning is an opportunity to wipe down the interior surfaces and remove the dust and dander so that when cold air does pass through, it is not mixing with these potentially harmful particles.

Preventing the Problem

For us, it is not enough to just wipe down your ductwork and move on our way. We want to find the source of the dirt and dander, and make sure that the problem doesn’t happen again. If your air filter is the problem, we may recommend changing it more often, or purchasing a higher grade filter in the future.

If there is damage to your ductwork that is allowing dust and dirt to get in, we can make those repairs and reseal connections so that your ductwork is once again airtight. You may still have to invest in ductwork cleaning again in the future, but hopefully not as soon.

Eliminating Odors

In addition to bacteria and viruses, dust particles in your air ducts can also carry bad odors. Smells from your bathroom, pets, cleaning chemicals, and anything else you can think of can easily re-circulate through your home after being trapped in these tiny dust particles.

You may begin to notice that your home smells bad. If the odor is more noticeable when the air conditioner is on, that is a red flag. An air duct cleaning can help eliminate these orders so your home smells fresh again.

Overall Comfort

You may not even realize how dirty the air in your home really is. But after a duct cleaning, you will be able to take a deep breath and feel completely comfortable in your home. You will know that the air is clean and free from dirt and dander.

Not only will you breathe easier, but you will also rest better knowing that this important project is one you can check off of your list.
