Single Family Residence Plumbing Inspection

Main Water Service

  • Shut-off valve before water meter is working properly
  • Shut-off valve after water meter is working properly

Water Heater (standard tanked water heaters only)

  • Flush water heater tank
  • Signs of leaking or corrosion
  • Verify proper operation of expansion tank
  • Verify operation of cold supply to emergency shut off valve
  • Verify proper operation of floor drain

Ejector Pump (if applicable)

  • Ejector pit is sealed and has no penetrations or corrosion.
  • Verify proper operation of ejector pump

Sump Pump (if applicable)

  • Verify sump pit has sealed radon cover
  • Verify proper operation
  • Verify proper operation of back up system
  • Complete load test on back up battery

Laundry Room

  • Verify condition of washing machine hoses and functionality of shut off valves
  • Confirm there are not leaks for laundry sink and/or supply lines
  • Verify drainage system is functioning and not backing up
  • Confirm there are no leaks for P-Trap and/or drainage connections

Water Quality

  • Water hardness test
  • Verify current whole home systems (softener, filtration system, etc.) and conditions of the systems.

Full Bathroom

  • Sink faucet and supply lines are not leaking
  • Pop-up is holding water and not leaking
  • Verify drainage system is functioning and not backing up
  • P-Trap and drainage connections are not leaking
  • Verify functionality of hot and cold emergency shut offs and are not leaking
  • Toilet bowl is not rocking, loose or showing signs of leaking and is secure to floor flange.
  • Toilet fill valve, flapper and flush lever are not corroded, leaking and are functioning properly.
  • Toilet tank to bowl connections are secure and not leaking
  • Verify functionality of toilet emergency shut off and supply line and is not leaking
  • Toilet is flushing properly and not backing up
  • Tub/shower valve is working properly and not leaking
  • Tub spout/diverter is working properly and not leaking
  • Shower head is functioning properly
  • Waste and overflow is functioning properly and not leaking

  • Disposal is not leaking and is free of obstructions
  • Verify dishwasher is connected properly

  • Supply lines for faucet, pull out and/or side sprayer are not leaking

Master Bathroom
